The Ola Cohn Memorial Sculpture Award
The Ola Cohn Memorial Sculpture Award is a non-acquisitive sculpture prize and exhibition, with a cash prize of $5,000. The Award is conducted by the Centre for Adult Education (CAE) and is open to living, practicing artists, who are citizens of Australia, and have been a resident of Victoria for the previous twelve months. The winning sculpture will be required to be made available for display at the CAE Flinders Street and/or Ola Cohn Centre for the Arts Campuses for a three month period following the announcement of the Award winner. |

The Parliamentary Plein Air Painting Prize is an acquisitive prize, which means the winning painting will automatically become part of the permanent collection of the NSW Parliament. The $20,000 prize money includes the Parliament’s acquisition of the work. |

The Corangamarah Art Prize - con.ceit’ 08, is a unique and contemporary Award for 2D works.
The $5,000 acquisitive prize will be awarded for a contemporary work of art which has been inspired by a happening or experience from the year preceding the exhibition (a con.ceit’).

The 2008 Waverley Art Prize
Waverley Woollahra Arts Centre and Waverley Council established the Waverley Art Prize in 1985 and it has been held annually ever since. There is a judging panel of three art professionals and the Waverley Art Prize is open to artists from all over Australia. |

St. Patrick’s College Art Exhibition
In 2008 St. Patrick’s College Ballarat, will launch its inaugural exhibition and art prizes. The St. Patrick’s College Art Exhibition will be open to all Australian artists.
The focus of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the visual arts within the broader college community and within the region. The exhibition will also include two acquisitive prizes to be awarded annually, The Flanagan Prize $3000 and the St. Patrick’s College Emerging Artist Award $1000. |

The Blake Prize for Religious Art
The Blake Prize for Religious Art is one of the more prestigious art prizes in Australia. For 55 years it has been awarding a prize for works of art that explore the subject of religious awareness and spirituality. In difference to art prizes that are awarded for distinct subject areas such as landscape or portraiture, the Blake has always invited a much more open, personal and idiosyncratic response, so much so that it has earned the criticism, ire and sometimes applause of critics and the public alike. |

2008 Black Swan Prize for Portraiture
This exciting event began with a bang in 2007 with a special retrospective exhibition of entrants of the Archibald Prize. Held in Perth, Western Australia, it was a huge success with over 5000 people attending the exhibition in a 6 day period.
In 2008 the competition begins afresh with artists invited to paint a portrait of a well known/respected Australian. Please find attached the official entry forms & Terms and Conditions of the 2008 Black Swan Prize for Portraiture.
Please note that final selection is via photographs of your artwork. This year the 1st prize is $20,000 with a special People's Choice Prize of $5,000. In 2009 the 1st Prize will be $25,000 and in 2010 it will be $30,000. |

The Signature of M Art Prize
The SIGNATURE OF M ART PRIZE with its $150,000 first prize and a total prize pool of $180,000 will be one of the largest arts projects in this nation’s history. The artist application fees as well as all profits from the auction of the 12 finalists artworks and associated events will go to a charitable cause, the Ladder Project.
Melbourne Is … the art and "Signature of M" is the search to explore the question ‘What is Melbourne?’ The aim is to create a new iconic, artistic emblem for Melbourne, that gives the city a contemporary image. This is a visual time capsule for Melbourne - A personal signature for the city.
The SIGNATURE OF M art competition will explore and summarize perspectives and emotional values, it will define the architectural, cultural and the commercial landscape that shapes this unique city in today’s times through art. Melbourne is part of a Siganture City Series that will compare 12 World City cultures with art.
The theme for the artists to work with was decided by the public on www.melbourneis.com.au: “Melbourne is Unforgettable… Melbourne is Unforgettable for its fashion, its culture, its lifestyle and unforgettable for Australian Football."
Most importantly, the winning artwork will capture Melbourne’s culture. SIGNATURE OF M will be viewed as a historical footprint for the city and a time capsule that future generations can look back on and ponder.
This is not just an arts Competition. The winning artist will give Melbourne a lasting icon! that will represent the city worldwide.

2008 John Leslie Art Prize
Open to amateur and professional artists in Australia, the John Leslie Art Prize is a biennial competition coordinated by the Gippsland Art Gallery Society.
Made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Patron of the Gallery, John Leslie O.B.E., the prize presents an opportunity for artists to win a $10 000 non-acquisitive award for painting on land-related themes. The theme for the 2008 prize is paintings depicting the natural world with references to, and perceptions of, the important issues contained within. |
